• Abstract

This study explores the current state of teaching and learning in the field of visual communication design in China during the era of smart education. By employing a mixed-methods approach, combining quantitative surveys with qualitative teacher interviews, this research comprehensively understands students' attitudes, the challenges and influences they face, and effective teaching strategies. The results indicate that students generally have a positive attitude toward smart education that integrates artificial intelligence and multimedia tools, believing that these technologies can enhance the personalization and interactivity of learning, thereby increasing efficiency and engagement. Teachers emphasize the importance of project-based learning and experiential learning, which enhance students' practical skills and promote innovative thinking development. Additionally, the study identifies some challenges in applying smart education technologies, such as integrating technology with traditional teaching methods.
