HIV is a chronic disease that remains a concern in developing countries. Adherence to ARV treatment regimens is critical to achieving optimal treatment outcomes for PLHIV and suppressing disease progression to increase life expectancy. Self-acceptance is an important psychological factor in overcoming the challenges faced by PLHIV. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between self-acceptance and medication adherence among people living with HIV. This study was conducted in two Public Health Centers in Semarang City, Indonesia, with a cross-sectional design involving 150 PLHIV. This study used Berger's Self-acceptance Scale and Morisky Medication Adherence Scale (MMAS-8). The research data were analyzed statistically using the Sommers test with a p-value <0.05. The correlation test results found a p-value of 0.001 with a correlation strength of 0.782 or in the straight category. There is a significant relationship between self-acceptance and medication adherence, and the higher the level of self-acceptance of PLHIV, the higher their level of adherence to taking ARV medication.
