• Abstract

The study sample comprised 209 parents of children with autism receiving treatment at centers in Hanoi. Two scales, designed to assess parental stress and the challenges faced by children with autism, were developed to ensure measurement reliability and validity. Research indicates that three significant challenges faced by children with autism are communication, behavior, and social interaction, with social interaction being the most prevalent. The results also suggest that these challenges are interrelated and can predict parental stress levels. Notably, social interaction problems in children tend to lead to more frequent parental stress, while behavioral problems do not exhibit a clear impact. The research results emphasize crucial areas that need attention when supporting parents in coping with stress.
