• Abstract

Leading by example in creating an environmentally-care village based on waste donation in Mrisi RT 05 Tirtonirmolo, Special Region of Yogyakarta (SRY) - Indonesia, is a challenge that requires integrity, courage, and commitment. Leaders who lead by example set an exemplar for their community and guide them towards sustainable positive change. Firstly, in implementing the programs, the initial step taken is to form a working team from the community residing in Mrisi RT 05 Tirtonirmolo, comprising 33 individuals (including youth, elders, homemakers, and religious figures). By involving diverse parties, this program can encompass the entire spectrum of the community, creating a greater impact. Furthermore, education is the primary key in this service program. The service team organizes workshops and regular training sessions to provide a deep understanding of the importance of environmental care and how waste can be managed environmentally friendly. The results indicate that leaders may create a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable environment by understanding the complexity of environmental issues, raising awareness, developing innovative programs, and building collaborations with stakeholders. Therefore, leading by example benefits the environment and fosters a more conscious and caring community towards the earth's sustainability.
