• Abstract

    Financial inclusion plays an essential role in alleviating poverty. However, the literature regarding the role of financial inclusion in poverty is still fragmented, and there has been no comprehensive review. This paper wants to analyze the intellectual structure of the topic and provide a comprehensive picture of this topic that has been discovered so far empirically in the field. A bibliometric study using Rstudio bibliophily on 497 articles from the Scopus database. This study found an increasing trend in research on financial inclusion and poverty over the past ten years. The International Journal of Social Economics is the most influential in this field. Koomson I and its affiliate, the University of New England, are the leading authors and affiliates on this topic, and India is the country with the most publications. In addition, five keys and directions for developing research on financial inclusion and poverty were found. study specifically analyzes the progress of research on financial inclusion and poverty, which has not been investigated in previous studies. This study can provide insight into future research on this topic. This study is limited to Scopus data, scientific articles, and the English language. In addition, the keywords used may not represent all research on this topic. Future research can expand the search database and use keywords that better represent the topic.
