• Abstract

Ethnoscience plays pivotal role to face this era challenges and it has evolved into a multidisciplinary domain with increasing academic interest, particularly in the last five years. This study aims to analyze Ethnoscience research published in the period 2000 to 2024 within Scopus database. Unlike standard bibliometric studies, this study enhances its analysis by descriptively examining the most locally cited articles. This approach provides a deeper contextual understanding of how Ethnoscience is applied across many disciplines. The findings show a steady increase in scholarly contributions, with a notable peak in 2021. Collaborations trends emphasize international engagement with rate of 16.22%. Thematic development indicates a strong connection between ethnoscience and STEM and applied learning contexts. “Sumarni W” leading in publications and “Olson K” achieving high citation impact. While Indonesia, the USA, and Brazil lead in Ethnoscience research output, the USA dominates in citation influence. Keyword analysis reveals a focus on local wisdom, scientific literacy, and emerging health-related applications. The knowledge structure analysis emphasizes the central role of Ethnoscience in linking diverse disciplines and fostering global academic collaborations. Despite a steady rise in publication, further studies should enhance research quality and strengthening global academic partnerships.
