This study's relevance stems from the advent of paradigmatic shifts in the business environment, which have given rise to a pressing need to transform approaches to managerial activity and applied tools. Furthermore, the significance of this field of study is reinforced by the growing integration of sustainable development discourse into organisational contexts and management practices. The objective of this article is to provide a systematic analysis of the core implications of the contemporary business environment for managers, with a particular focus on the role of sustainability in the effective practice of modern management. The research is based on an evolutionary (dialectical) and systemic approach. This article demonstrates the superiority of the sustainability paradigm as a foundation for the implementation of various new managerial approaches and tools. The findings identify the key areas that new managers must prioritize to succeed and describe the tools and systems that underpin sustainable management practices. In particular, the role of digital transformation and big data business analytics is discussed. The conclusion asserts that there is a dearth of profound scientific comprehension of the processes delineated in the article, as well as a paucity of unambiguous definitions and reasoned discourse. This underscores the necessity for collaboration between the business and academic communities in conducting pertinent investigations and fostering advancements in this domain.
