Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) is a process of using various sensors and technologies to assess the condition of a structure continuously or periodically. In the context of seismic loading on buildings, SHM becomes particularly crucial for ensuring the structural integrity and safety of the building during and after seismic events. This bibliometric review's goal is to provide a thorough analysis of the (SHM) unveiling its development, present patterns, and potential future paths. The approach entails a meticulous bibliometric examination of research productivity from the establishment of the subject in 1968. Highlighting significant milestones and charting trends in research. Research indicates a steady increase in SHM under seismic load on over 112 yearly papers demonstrate construction research, with main contributions from the US and Italy. The report also shows how SHM is being used more in construction, supported by sensor research. This review's originality lies in its thorough overview of SHM research, revealing historical and current trends and suggesting future study fields. This provides a solid platform for future research, promoting expansion in this promising sector.
