• Abstract

Management of dry mummified late gestational fetus with ample lubrication and mild traction in a crossbred cow is reported. Artificial Insemination (AI) was carried out one year back. Heat signs disappeared after insemination, but based on history and physical, per rectal and per vaginal observations this case records a rare condition of spontaneous abortion in cattle carrying a mummified fetus. Dry mummified mass was lubricated and removed by applying traction with the help of a calf snare. Dam showed an uneventful recovery.
